Lyrics

The ballad of the Lizard and the Frog

The Lizard and the Frog went screaming down the street
Shoes on their hands and gloves on their feet
The Lizard said hey Frog, lets get something to eat
And the Frog said let’s eat the whole world

The lizard and the Frog they went to see the snake
And she hissed at them what deal should we make
The Frog said I love her so, it’s more than I can take
She talks so fast and says nothing at all

CH:
All the critters down at the bog
like to come on down and listen to the Frog
Jump on a stump and croak that poison out
Let’s make the swamp great again, that’s what it’s all about

The Lizard and the Frog were summoned by the Bear
And he growled at them You two better take care
Don’t let me find out you been playing fair
Or I’ll crush you with a snap of my Jaw

The Turtle hated everything his heart was made of tar
But one look at the Frog and he knew he was a star
He said I’ll slap a wheel on him and drive him like a car
And when they come for him I’ll hide under a stone

The Frog had a power to tell a pleasing lie
And everybody watched but nobody asked why
And when the world burns and they all begin to cry
He’ll say you knew what I was when you let me in the door
